My Bio

I am Juan C. Olmedo, a Latino Tech Entrepreneur and High-Performance Coach. My journey into entrepreneurship began at the young age of 15, influenced by my father’s hard work ethic, relentlessly focused in supporting his family, and my family’s involvement in the construction industry, I have uncles, cousins, and distant relatives who work in various tradesman work. Sure my father wasn’t perfect, but I will never forget his willingness to work hard and push through any obstacle. During high school, I spent my summer vacations working with my uncles on construction job sites, learning various trades like demolition, electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry. I even spent weekends running a side carwash business. These early experiences instilled in me the belief that “Hard Work Pays Off” and ignited my ambition to work tirelessly.

Growing up in sunny Southern California, I saw potential in everything that piqued my interest- construction, lawn care, carwash, and technology. I learned very early on, that if I work 4 hours, 6 hours, or even 10 hours, and build skills, my work provides value to the company and I will get compensated for it. Within my first full summer of working in construction and weekend car washes, I was able to buy a vehicle before I even had a driver’s license. At this point, there was no going back, I realized I was born to pursue business ownership.

My journey into the world of technology began like many youngsters who stumble upon their true passion- the spark that would ultimately shape their lifelong career. It all started when I was just 12 years old during a 6th grade field trip to the local County Court house, a mere four miles from our Newport Beach elementary school. The purpose of our visit was to gain insights into the court system, laws, and judicial process.

However, as we roamed the hallways, something unexpected caught my eye. I peered into a room with glass walls, and what I beheld inside completely captivated me. There, I saw racks upon racks of what we recognize today as Server Computers, a maze of wires, lights flickering, and the constant hum of fans. At that moment, I couldn’t fully comprehend the significance of what lay before me, but I was undeniably drawn in, far more intrigued by this sight than the court-related activities or our field trip.

In the mid to late 90’s, my YouTube was not an online platform but the local library. Fortunately, our home was conveniently situated right across the street from this invaluable resource. Over the following month, I was a regular at the library, fervently seeking out and checking out books on computers, networks, and all things technology. Through sheer determination and an insatiable curiosity, I embarked on a journey of self-education. I taught myself the art of computer building and repair, delved into the intricacies of web development, and even ventured into the realm of graphic design.

As the days turned into months, one thing became abundantly clear- I was destined to pursue a career in technology. This early encounter with the world of servers and computers ignited a passion within me that would shape my future profound ways.

In the year 2000, I embarked on a new chapter by enlisting in the U.S. Navy to learn responsibility and discipline. Joining the U.S. Navy inspired my younger sister, Marcela to join. Her journey was a turning point for her as well, as she served 12 years. My serving the U.S. Navy had its ups and downs where I ultimately worked with the Construction Battalion as a journeyman with the Builders in Coronado, CA. Though my journey was brief, not a lifelong career, I was grateful for the opportunity, and it provided valuable life experiences that continue to shape my journey.

The greatest gift on this journey has been fatherhood. I became a father at the tender age of 22 when my daughter, Angelina Christine, was born on February 23, 2005. In the same year, June 9, 2005, I launched my first official business. A General Contracting construction company called “Innovation Construction Inc.” in Orange County, CA. Within its first year, I led Innovation Construction Inc to become a respected GC Home Builder and Remodeler, achieving $2 Million in revenues and employing 20 full-time employees.

At 25, I ventured into the tech industry, founding “IT Networx Solutions Inc” providing Information Technology Solutions. After five years of growth and establishing strong service contracts in Cyber Security, Managed Solutions, and Network Administration, I sold IT Networx Solutions Inc to an LA-based competitor. Still deeply involved in construction and inspired by my entrepreneurial journey, I began making strategic investments in various industries including, Tech, Telecommunications, Software Development, Digital Marketing, and Insurance Agencies.

“It is hard physical work to run a business, but starting and implementing a business is quite simple. The idea is to calculate your risk and go all in 100%,” is a philosophy I live by.

In 2010, I made a pivotal decision to fully immerse myself in the world of technology, with a specific focus in Telecommunications. At the juncture, my construction business, which had managed to weather the storm of the 2008 economic recession, underwent a transformative shift. I joined forces with partners who possessed expertise in collaborating with asset management firms, primarily engaging in projects related to apartment community remodeling, rehabilitation, and restoration. In this strategic transition, I gracefully transitioned from hands-on role to that of a silent partner, facilitating a seamless shift in the business dynamics.

This transition offered me the freedom to passionately pursue my lifelong love passion for technology while ensuring a steady stream of income to support my family’s needs.

We began research and development in June 2010 on our VoIP Phone System, as Nexera Communications, with the goal in developing a Business Phone Service that would bring enterprise level features for small businesses. By 2013 after 3 years in R&D, we where ready to launch, and started to on-board clients. In 2016, I acquired an LA-Based VoIP company and we officially got licensed by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) as an interconnected UCaaS Provider. I merged the acquired company and Nexera, and officially launched as Nevtis Communications, providing full UCaaS Solution, including: VoIP Phone Service, Video Conferencing, Texting, CRM Integration, and Broadband Internet Service.

In 2023, with 18 years of entrepreneurial experience, I lead Nevtis Communications with 18 employees into the new normal of staying connected globally. I am passionately advising individuals on starting and scaling construction businesses. Under Nexera Business Advisors, I share my knowledge of obtaining a contractors license and aim to build a nationwide Business Advisory Firm focused primarily on the Construction Industry, by empowering driven individuals to build $1 Million companies.

Currently, I serve as the CEO and Founder of DELAGIX Equities, a Venture Capital firm, investing in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security Tech, Software Development, Telecommunications, and Construction Companies. I am also the CEO of Nevtis Corp, a Socal based UCaaS Service Provider, a Senior Advisor at Nexera Business Advisors, a business instructor at Pinnacle School of Business, host of the Limitless Insights Project Podcast, and High-Performance Coach for those seeking to become sales machines.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I am happily married to Rosa Olmedo, a successful entrepreneur in her own right, and I am a proud father of five. Three daughters and two sons. My journey continues, fueled by a passion for entrepreneurship and a commitment to making a lasting impact.
